About Us

Our History

In 1944, the WFRW was formed under the leadership of former Washington State Republican Party National Committeewoman Della Urquhart from Yakima and affiliated with the NFRW in 1945. In 1999, WFRW was honored to serve as the host state when the NFRW biennial convention was held in Seattle. The WFRW currently has 26 clubs and more than 1,000 primary members, with over 100,000 volunteer hours devoted to Republican candidates and causes and an untold number of hours on community service projects.

WFRW holds two Board of Director's meetings each year, one in the Spring and one in the Fall.  Besides the business portion of the meeting there are workshop trainings, leadership development, special events including a dinner with keynote speaker and opportunities to connect with sister members across the state. All members are encouraged to attend.
A Convention is held every two even numbered years at the Fall meeting to elect new WFRW Executive Board Officers.

Local Membership  Click our Membership Page for more information

Joining a local club is a great way to participate in the political process at the grassroots level, develop leadership skills, and network with women in your community. As a member of the Washington Federation of Republican Women, YOU are a vital part of the grassroots political organization with 26 Republican women's clubs spread throughout the state, including a virtual club.

Local Republican women's clubs throughout Washington State are part of the largest women's political group nationwide. Local clubs are chartered under the bylaws of the Washington Federation of Republican Women (WFRW) and the National Federation of Republican Women (NFRW). Members of local clubs are automatically members of their state federation and the National Federation of Republican Women.

Dues at the local level vary but include state and national membership dues. Included with these memberships, you will have access to website resources and receive communications from both WFRW and NFRW. Associate Members: Men, and women belonging to more than one Federated Club, can be non-voting Associate Members. Dues for Associate Members vary by club.

Our goals are to:

* Educate, advocate and build the base of Republican Women statewide
